YCK Legends Storm Opening Night with 8–2 Demolition as Season 1 Tips Off in Thunder

The wait is over. On Friday 9 October, all eight teams of the Singapore Seniors Pickleball League hit the court at once, and by the end of the night, 40 games had been played and the League had its first statement of Season 1.

It came from Court 3. YCK Legends swept past Onedelful 8–2, the biggest margin of the evening. They won all four Mixed Doubles games, took two of three Men’s Doubles and two of three Women’s Doubles, and left Onedelful hunting for answers. Onedelful’s two wins came from Benny Gan (C) and Gordon Lim in the Men’s Doubles (15–13) and Ang Cecilia and Lim Geok Eng in the Women’s Doubles (15–8). Even in defeat, Onedelful pushed YCK to 15–14 in one Mixed Doubles game.

Everywhere else, the margins were razor-thin. Golden Seniors edged Tengah Warriors 6–4. Silver Picklers edged Dawson Sunsettlers 6–4, even though Dawson won both 15–14 thrillers of the night. MP Mavericks edged Pickleball 963 6–4, with Jimmy Yap (C) and Oliver Loo flattening their Men’s Doubles opponents 15–2, the most lopsided game of the night.

Four matches, four winners: YCK Legends, Golden Seniors, Silver Picklers and MP Mavericks. Week 2 can’t come soon enough.
